Prada deliberately designs and sells ugly clothes. Why would women pay exorbitant amounts to look stupid?

Choosing the look ridiculous at great expense
I could go on with how absurd women’s fashion has become. I have already done so. At the risk of being tediously repetitive, I have to do another blog on this topic.
The cause is the article I saw in the Washington Post, which had the following headline:
In defense of truly ugly clothes
Work shirts with cocktail gloves. Wispy bra thingies and useless aprons. What on earth is Prada doing?

I believe that there is, in fact, no defense for ugly clothes. Many people have awful taste in clothes, and display their inherent tendency towards the gauche/slobby/stupid every day. Thats fine. I don’t believe they are doing so WITH INTENTION.
But fashion designers ARE DESIGNING UGLY CLOTHES INTENTIONALLY. I don’t get it. Does any of the five of you reading this get it? I would love a comment on this. (I am sadly starved for attention.)
Pathetic, I know. But at least I don’t walk around intentionally in ugly clothes. That I paid huge sums for.
