Movie Review Here

4 Stars out of 10. Woke Nonsense: Yes, annoying but brief.

This Is the scene for 90% of the movie. Yawn. No visual interest takes the edge off the humdrum plot or lackluster dialog. De aged Tom Hanks and Robin Wright.

The movie Here is an old fashioned drama about unhappy people. The conceit of the movie is that the action all happens in one room in one suburban house, over the course of 60 years or so. Although the Director, Robert Zemekis, treats us to scenes of dinosaurs and then cavemen living on the property back in the day. (The house is not pictured then.)

If you ignore my advice and choose to watch this snoozer, note that there is an unfilled out subplot about Ben Frankin’ having a connection to the house. Who cares? I didn’t.

We are treated to unhappy people being portrayed in 30-45 second vignettes. Its like a series of commercials, but not as interesting. The scenes depict the stars’ ordinary and almost always boring lives. We have Tom Hanks and Robin Wright depicting these ordinary people in an uninteresting fashion. Neither are happy with each other, nor Tom’s parents (Paul Bettany and ? can’t name the mother) who allow them to mooch like a millenial in the basement. (Tom couldn’t hold a good job.) We are treated to Robin Wright moping around the house she lives in for free. Compelling theater!

You will not be surprised to learn that the movie has an unhappy ending. The ending and heading out were my favorite parts of this desultory turd of a movie. Bet it was yours too.

Want to watch some good Tom Hanks movies instead? He and Robin Wright star in Forrest Gump, an Oscar winner. Toy Story 1-4. Big. Saving Private Ryan. Apollo 13. Splash. Too many to mention. I even liked Bachelor Party, if you are in the mood for an Animal House type juvenile guys movie. Avoid Cast Away, unless you mostly enjoy sleeping during movies.
