3 Stars. Woke Nonesense: most of the movie is rife with it

I watched this movie on a 10 hour flight when I had seen many other movies available. I chose it because of its awesome cast. Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, JW Washington, Chris Rock, Timothy Olyphant. Many others whom I like a lot.

The movie proves that David O Russell, who produced and directed, is WAY overrated in the biz. This story is implausible, with gaping wide plot holes, lack of chemistry between the cast, and a convoluted story. And the annoying wokeness of it all.

Allegedly this is a comedy mystery story. If there was humor, I missed it. The story involves Washington being best friends with Bale, and a triangle formed (not romantically) with Margot Robbie. A friends group, with the love story between Robbie and Washington. Who form the chemistry of granite and baby powder, or something. No electricity, no spark, not even some gratuitous nudity to add some modicum of interest. ZZZZZ.

Anyways, this ones a loser. As a recommendation for comedy mysteries to watch instead, try Clue, Murder by Death, Who Framed Roger Rabbit,The Cheap Detective. and Hot Fuzz. For dark, intense murder mysteries, I suggest the original Sleuth, Body Heat, and Body Double. All of these are among my favorites.
