I have read with interest that many governmental organizations are now inviting Satanists to provide invocations or dedications at official meetings. Thus recognizing that people who worship a biblical character that personifies evil and hate, as equivalent to Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc in their faiths. Just wondering, what logic is being used to enable this public recognition?

Curious as to the nature of this newly accepted religious group, I did what we all do. Google search. According to the online Britannica, naturally there are different sects. The two largest, do not actually believe that Satan exists or existed. So the titular subject of their worship-is nobody. Rather, their religion seem to consist of rather amorphis and ill defined ideas. Here is what Britannica says about LeVeyan Satanism: (Anton LeVey started the church of Satan way back in 1964, notably when the use of LSD became much more prevalent):

“LaVeyan Satanism was formally atheistic, presenting Satan not as a real being but as a symbol of humanity’s animal nature. It nevertheless accepted certain supernaturalist ideas, namely a belief in magic, with LaVeyan Satanists performing rituals with magical intent.” (I am picturing the Thuggi worshiping scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom).

Presto change-o, a religious belief is born! Let’s put the horned devil up on the dais with the crucifix! They believe in no one, and nothing! Completely content free religion!

I understand that as a democratic society, and with California still attached to our far left frontier, that we have a duty to respect peoples beliefs no matter the level of insanity contained therein. There are people who celebrate Kwanzaa (well, maybe 10 people or so). This religious event was invented by a marxist FBI informant. We have scientologists, a “religion” explicitly set up as a tax dodge. And the Church of Euthanasia, who believes that overpopulation is going to cause the end of the world. They urge people to kill themselves to prevent this, (Bill Gates is a known congregant). Unfortunately for this peculiar cult, their own beliefs tend to limit its numbers; members seem to die off with alarming frequency.

And of course, we have millions of people who believe in Socialism, the religion of the actual Marx who was a anti semitic believer in magic himself; (e.g., socialism can actually work). Understandably, he despised people with actual religious beliefs. 

So here we are, people who worship a vile and odious beast who they don’t believe actually ever existed, and who apparently have worship services featuring Penn and Teller, are now officially part of our recognized religious groups. Satan himself must be laughing hysterically down there in the seventh circle of Dante’s inferno.
